San Giovanni d’Asso

Nestled between the Crete Senesi and Val d’Orcia, San Giovanni d’Asso is a charming village clustered around its medieval castle. It is a must-visit destination for food lovers, as it is the home of the prized white truffle of the Crete Senesi.

Every autumn, the village hosts the White Truffle Market Exhibition, one of the most important gastronomic events in the area. Guests can also enjoy the thrill of a truffle hunt alongside an expert truffle hunter and trained dogs.

San Giovanni d’Asso is also known as the “city of olive oil” and Orcia DOC wines, located between the famous wine regions of Montalcino and Montepulciano.

Pienza

Pienza is a beautifully preserved Renaissance jewel set in the heart of Val d’Orcia. Designed by Pope Pius II as the “Ideal City,” it remains an extraordinary example of harmonious urban planning.

Highlights include the Cathedral designed by Rossellino, the Piccolomini Palace with its panoramic hanging garden, and the charming historic center. Pienza is also renowned for its world-famous Pecorino cheese.

Bagno Vignoni

Bagno Vignoni is one of the most evocative places in Val d’Orcia. Located along the Via Francigena, it has been famous since Roman times for its thermal waters, once enjoyed by kings and popes.

The village is built around a large thermal pool in the main square, making it unique in the world. Ideal for a timeless stroll or a romantic dinner. Nearby, the Mill Park and the spa facilities offer the perfect setting for relaxation and wellbeing.

Montalcino

Montalcino is the birthplace of Brunello, one of Italy’s most prestigious wines. Perched on a hill overlooking Val d’Orcia, it offers stunning views and a charming medieval atmosphere.

Strolling through its narrow streets, you’ll discover wine bars, artisan shops and breathtaking vistas. A visit to the 16th-century Fortress and the nearby Abbey of Sant’Antimo is highly recommended.

Montepulciano

Montepulciano rises above the Tuscan countryside between Val d’Orcia and Valdichiana and is famous for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Rich in Renaissance architecture, elegant squares and historic cellars, it is a town of timeless beauty.

The heart of the city is Piazza Grande, surrounded by the Cathedral, Town Hall and magnificent historic palaces. Montepulciano also offers excellent wine bars, tastings and traditional artisan shops.
